He Asked Me For Money….Again.

Today was just another normal day at the center. Your usual rowdy kids and as usual trash pickup and center clean up. As I arrived there I was greeted by a little boy. His name was Alex. He asked me for money because he wanted something from the ice-cream truck. I don’t think he realized it but EVERYTIME I go volunteer, he asked me for money. I thought that was really funny because he always asked me for money, while eating something from the ice-cream truck. He must think I’m stupid. But getting back to my trash pickup, I spent some time outside picking up the normal trash. This consisted of juice pouches, hot cheeto bags, candy wrappers, and loose homework sheets. I watched the kids play soccer for a little while, but then I got back to work.  I kind of like picking up trash on days like this. Where the wind is nice, and it’s not TOO hot, or TOO cold. You can sit and watch all the kids play, and watch all the birds fly from bench to bench. I think that what I do here benefits everyone, not only the center but the kids as well. If there was no one to pick up the trash, eventually the place would look like a dump. And that would be bad for everyone because then they wouldn't have anywhere safe to play. I really like coming and picking up the trash. It gives me a chance to be outside and watch the people play with their kids. And in a community like this, that’s something really nice that you don’t see too often.
